Edit, enhance, and transform videos directly from Tess’s chat using advanced post-production tools. From background removal to 4K upscaling, all without leaving the platform and, better yet, without leaving the chat!
What is this Tool?
The Video Editing tool in Tess’s Chat offers 7 specialized post-production features:
Runway Aleph – Retexturing, angle changes, and visual effects
Chroma Key Background – Automatic background removal and replacement with green screen
Video Upscale 4x – Resolution boost up to 4x (to HD or 4K)
Film Maker – Clip merging with smooth transitions
Sound to Video – Audio generation and mixing from prompts or video
Extract Last Frame – Captures the last frame as a still image
Wan Animate – Character replacement and animation while keeping the original movement
Why it matters
Professional editing without complex tools. After all, with Tess, you can:
Finish videos generated by AI or recorded externally
Prepare content for production (chroma key, upscaling)
Create visual narratives by combining multiple clips
Add professional audio layers
Reuse frames to ensure visual continuity
All this without needing to master traditional editing software like Premiere, After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve.
Choose the feature you want from the tools above, upload the video (or videos) you want to edit, and describe the edit you want (depending on the tool). Wait for processing and download the result!
Understanding the available tools
1. Runway Aleph
Works for advanced editing with retexturing and visual effects. In other words, it retextures objects in the video (e.g.: change the color of a wall, clothing texture), changes camera angles computationally and adds creative visual effects.
Use it when you need to adjust colors/textures without re-recording, to try alternative camera angles or to add stylized visual effects.
Usage example: "Change the color of the car from blue to red, keep the rest of the scene intact." The expected result is the same video with the car retextured in red, without affecting other elements.
2. Chroma Key Background
Perfect for automatic background removal and replacement with a green screen (chroma key). It makes it easier to later apply custom backgrounds in any editor.
Use it to prepare videos for compositing in professional editors, or when you need to isolate the subject/character from the background or even to create content with virtual backgrounds or dynamic sets.
Recommended flow
Upload the video with the background you want to remove
Automatic processing – the AI removes the background
Download the video with green screen
Import into an editor (Premiere, After Effects, etc.) and add a new background
3. Video Upscale 4x
Resolution increase up to 4x with AI. It’s the ideal tool to improve video sharpness, reduce distortions and noise, and even make it easier to see details lost due to low quality.
If you have old or low-resolution videos that need a quality upgrade, this tool will help you out. Or even if you want to improve the quality of AI-generated videos.
Limitations:
Doesn’t create non-existent details – it only enhances what already exists
Processing time can be long depending on the length of the video
4. Film Maker
Merging clips with professional transitions, meaning it can join multiple video clips into a single sequence, with smooth transitions between them (or no transition, when specified).
Use it to create visual narratives from several clips, build promotional videos, showreels or storytelling, or to merge separately generated scenes into a single smooth video.
Recommended flow:
Upload the clips in the desired order
Choose the transition style (fade, hard cut, dissolve, etc.)
Processing – the AI stitches the clips together with natural transitions
Types of transition:
Fade: Gradual darkening effect, ideal for dramatic scene changes
Dissolve: Gradual overlap effect, used for time passing
Cut: The effect is like a direct cut, used for a fast pace, action
Slide: Sideways sliding effect, for spatial connection between scenes
Usage example
Input:
Clip 1: Sunrise at the beach
Clip 2: Person walking on the sand
Clip 3: Close-up of footprints
Transitions: Fade between 1→2, Dissolve between 2→3
Output: Single 30s video with smooth visual narrative.
5. Sound to Video
Audio and video generation and combination tool. It can generate audio from text prompts or from the visual content of the video, combine multiple audio tracks into a single video, and can also layer different sounds (music, narration, effects, ambience).
Use it to add a soundtrack to silent videos, create custom soundscapes, layer voiceover, background music and sound effects, etc.
6. Extract Last Frame
This tool is perfect for capturing the last frame as a static image (JPEG/PNG).
It’s recommended for keeping continuity between AI-generated videos using the extracted static image. In this case, use the last frame of Video A as the first frame of Video B for naturally smooth and seamless transitions, or use it to create custom thumbnails, etc.
7. Wan Animate
The Wan 2.2 Animate models let you replace characters in reference videos while keeping the original movement, or transfer movement from one video to a new scene with a different character and background.
Operation modes
Animate Replace Mode (Replace Character)
Input: Original video + image of the new character
Output: Video with the new character performing the same movements
Preserves: Movement, original scene
Animate Animation Mode (Copy Movement)
Input: Reference video (movement) + character image + new scene
Output: New video with animated character performing the movement from the original video
Preserves: Movement
Replaces: Character and background
General best practices
Use videos with good lighting and proper resolution
Avoid videos that are too compressed or have too much noise
Start with short clips before processing long videos
Upscale 4x → Chroma Key → Film Maker → Sound to Video
